Bus passengers escaped injury following an accident near Maidstone Hospital this afternoon.

A car was in collision with an Arriva bus, which was stationary at the time, by the junction of Tonbridge Road and Hermitage Lane at around midday.

The Kia car was towed away and the bus moved to the side of the road for repairs.

No-one was believed to have been injured in the incident, though traffic problems were recorded as the road was sealed off.

The passengers were eventually transferred to another bus and the road re-opened at around 1pm.
