Sevenoaks’ busy weekend saw them secure maximum points from their games with Old Loughtonians and Canterbury.

Tim Warrington scored the only goal during their 1-0 win at Old Loughtonians on Saturday, before the club moved to within two points of Conference East leaders Canterbury on Sunday after defeating the Polo Farm side 3-2.

Matt Harper gave Canterbury an early lead before George Torry and Stuart McDade sent the hosts into the interval 2-1 ahead. Ed Butcher made it 2-2 eight minutes into the second half but Sam Ornbo’s 57th-minute strike condemned the visitors to a first defeat of the season.

Holcombe’s men remain in the lower reaches of Conference East after twice coming from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against bottom side Chelmsford.

Simon Ramsden and Dave Mathews scored Holcs' goals, with Mathews’ strike coming three minutes from time.

Bromley and Beckenham picked up their second win in Conference East this season with a 6-0 rout of City of Peterborough.

Dan Holmes’ strike was the difference in the first half before second-half goals from Holmes, Matthew Baggs, Phillip Froeschle (2) and Simon Evans.

South African Cindy Botha claimed a 15-minute first-half hat-trick as Canterbury’s women disposed of Chelmsford 7-0 in the Premier Division.

Jen Wilson, Mel Clewlow and Cathy Gilliat-Smith added further first-half strikes to put the game beyond the division’s bottom side, before Gilliat-Smith finished the scoring in the second half.

In women’s Conference East, Sevenoaks were beaten 4-1 at Southgate, despite taking an early lead through a Fiona Harland penalty corner.

Maidstone led twice in their bottom-of-the- table clash with St Albans, only to be pegged back to 2-2.

Lizzie Daniels and Emma Greenway were the Maidstone scorers.

Lara Hoadley scored a late winner as Holcombe made it through to the last 16 of the EH Cup with a 1-0 home win against Team Bath Buccaneers.

Holcombe face another home tie in the next round on Sunday, against South Division 1’s Epsom.
