Charlton Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday

CHARLTON manager Alan Pardew admitted he is hurting that his Championship title favourites are yet to win in the league this season.

The Addicks were held on the opening day by newly-promoted Scunthorpe and lost away to new leaders Stoke after taking the lead.

Pardew said: "I'm hurting and I hope my players are hurting. I know the Charlton supporters are desperate for us to win and I accept that their patience is thin.

"This division is all about how you react and we have to react right on the pitch."

Pardew hinted he is re-thinking the way the side play.

He explained: "We have to get the balance of the side right and to do that we may have to sacrifice some technical ability so we cope with the strength and power of teams in the Championship."
