Conference East leaders Canterbury scored four times in 13 minutes to beat Chelmsford 4-1 on Sunday and make it five wins out of five.

Canterbury trailed 1-0 at the interval before goals from Andy Magro (50 minutes), skipper Matt Harper (54), South Africa international Lloyd Norris-Jones (58) and Ed Butcher (63) made sure the side maintained their 100 per cent record.

Sevenoaks got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 6-2 victory over City of Peterborough.

It was Sevenoaks’ first win since the opening day of the season.

Tim Warrington with two goals in the first half hour and an effort from Pete Turner helped Sevenoaks to a 3-0 lead.

Peterborough pulled one back before the interval but the 3-1 goal tally was repeated in the second half.

A penalty corner effort from Stuart McDade and Neil Smith’s goal from open play put the game beyond Peterborough’s reach but they did pull another back.

The win was completed when Smith scored his second of the day.

Holcombe threw away a two-goal lead and the opportunity to end a miserable run of form in the league.

The men’s team have won just one of their opening five Conference East games and were leading Saturday’s game at Oxted 2-0, before conceding two second-half goals.

David Mathews and Danny Laslett scored for Holcombe but Oxted fought back to earn a share of the spoils.

Bromley & Beckenham lost for the first time this season, 3-2 at Indian Gymkhana.

The visitors had twice taken the lead, through Matthew Baggs and Scott Falconer.
