Gillingham v Brentford

GILLINGHAM will have to do battle with Brentford at Priestfield on Saturday without the suspended strikeforce of Darren Byfield and Neil Harris.

But the Kent club could welcome back Matt Jarvis after a prolonged absence following a hernia operation.

Jarvis returned to full training this week and, having not suffered any reaction, Jepson will decide on Friday whether to include him in the squad.

Gills will start with midfielder Tommy Black, who could play in an advanced position, after he extended his loan spell from Crystal Palace for a further two months.

"Tommy gives us that bit of quality," said manager Ronnie Jepson.

"He is a good addition to the squad and we need that at this moment in time because numbers are dwindling."

Jepson remains confident that his squad can turn their League 1 form around at home against Brentford.

"The lads have responded well in training," he said. "We’ve had a good week and hopefully we’ll get a result on Saturday."
