Ice men out to prey on Hawks

PHIL CHARD: feels his men will learn from the defeat by the Raiders

INVICTA Dynamos' ice hockey coach Phil Chard says he will not let his players take their foot off the gas in their pursuit of the English National Hockey League South title.

Chard takes his Gillingham-based side to point-less Slough Hawks on Sunday looking to make it five wins out of five in the league this season.

The only blot on the Dynamos' copybook this campaign has been the 8-0 defeat away to the Isle of Wight Raiders last Saturday in the Premier Cup - a game Chard believes the players will learn from.

He said: “When we play against the bigger teams we need to be able to relax and play our own game without any fear of failure. That's why I will be putting my strongest team out in the league each week because it gets them used to playing in the same disciplined system.

“When they do face the Premier teams the youngsters, and also the older players, will not be nervous because they know how to play together.”
