Ice men facing sponsorship deadline

THE Medway-based Invice Dynamos ice hockey team have received overwhelming support from the local community in their battle to secure English National Premier League status.

The club has just a few days left to find new sponsors so they can take their place in the league they won two seasons ago, or face dropping down into the English National League (South).

Director Jackie Mason said: “We have been so grateful for all the support and the leads people have given us. We will be making an announcement very shortly on our future because we are still working on a couple of developments.

“If we do have to take a step backwards before going forwards again it won’t have been for lack of endeavour.”

The club has registered to play in the ENPL for the forthcoming season, but the moment of truth comes on June 8 at the fixtures meeting.

By then the Mos will have had to decide whether or not they are in a position to take their place.

The race to find new backers came after Gateshead-based Kelly Cartons ended their sponsorship deal.
