GILLINGHAM boss Andy Hessenthaler has denied speculation linking him with the manager’s jobs at Derby and Crystal Palace.

Hessenthaler said he would be in charge at Priestfield next season unless he is told otherwise by chairman Paul Scally.

He said: “It’s nice when you are linked with those kind of jobs. But I’m committed to this club and going to keep working hard because they have done great for me."

He stressed: "I’m loving it here. People get linked to jobs all the time, that’s football. As for the rumours, that’s all they are - rumours.”

Meanwhile, Gills striker Marlon King is continuing his rehabilitation from a long-term cruciate ligament injury at Lilleshall.

King had a successful operation in early March and has been working since then with club physiotherapist George Johnson.

Gillingham hope to extend King's stay at Lilleshall for a further week, meaning he will be joined by team-mate Kevin James who begins treatment there on Monday.
