Midfielder Adam Miller knows Gillingham will need to be on top form

Stockport v Gillingham

Gillingham will need to be at their best to set up an FA Cup tie against Premier League opposition - that's the verdict of midfielder Adam Miller.

The Gills travel to Stockport on Tuesday night in their FA Cup Second Round Replay knowing victory will set up a tie with Aston Villa.

Miller already has one eye on the potential Third Round at Priestfield but the 26-year-old knows the Gills will have to pull out all the stops against their League 1 opponents.

He said: "Stockport are a good team and I thought they played well last week. We’ve got to go into it with the same attitude as what we have been recently. Hopefully, we can get the backing from the fans and get everyone behind us. We can get a good result up there.

"If we get through it is a massive tie. Aston Villa are a top team who are doing well in the Premier League. You always look to play at the best level you can and against the best players.

"They are a team which is full of internationals and players who have gone for millions in the transfer window. To put yourself up against them is a great opportunity."

Gills boss Mark Stimson could name an unchanged side for the third successive game while Nicky Southall (cup tied) is ruled out having played for Dover while on loan in a previous round

With prize money and television fees on offer to the winner, victory could earn Gillingham as much as £250,000.
