Gillingham 3 - Watford 0

GILLINGHAM put on a show for the Priestfield crowd as they pasted Watford.

Mamady Sidebe gave Gills the perfect start with his first goal for the club when he latched onto Guy Ipoua's flick on and held off Neil Cox to slide the ball home after just two minutes.

Former Hornet and Gills player/manager Andy Hessenthaler fired wide and Paul Smith hit a cheeky lob just over before Gills went 2-0 up.

Nyron Nosworthy found Hessenthaler in bags of space and he stood up a cross for Ipoua who scored from close range with a diving header.

Danny Webber had Watford's best chance when he hit the bar with a curling shot just before the break.

Watford tried to shake things up in the second half but the few chances they did create were kept out by Jason Brown who was superb in the Gillingham goal.

But Kevin James rounded off a superb day with a fabulous injury time goal when he out-paced the last Watford defender and sent in a delicious lob into the top corner.

Gills are now 11th in Division 1.

Attendance: 8,728
