Fleet beaten on away day

Altrincham 2 Ebbsfleet 0

A toothless display saw Ebbsfleet come away from their Blue Square Premier trip to Altricham with nothing.

The Fleet fell behind in the 27th minute when Colin Little picked himself up after being fouled by Darius Charles and stroked a 20-yard free-kick past Lance Cronin.

And Altricham increased their lead on the stroke of half-time when Chris Senior was sent clear by Mark McGregor and he had the pace to beat Peter Hawkins and the finish to beat Cronin.

Liam Daish was sent off at the break after an incident in the tunnel and was unable to watch the second half.

The visitors huffed and puffed in the second period but failed to find a breakthrough to redress the damage done before the break.

Fleet: Cronin, Ricketts, Hawkins, Pooley, Charles, Slatter (Shakes 57), Barrett, Hand, Long (Ibe 81), Moore, Gash. Subs not used: Mott, Smith, Stone. Attendance: 967.
