Discarded Browning in talks with Cherries

MIDFIELDER Marcus Browning is having talks with Bournemouth as part of his quest to find another club following his weekend release by Gillingham.

The 31-year-old former Huddersfield, Bristol Rovers and Wales international declined an invitation to play for the Cherries in Saturday's pre-season friendly against Manchester United, but agreed to have talks with manager Sean O'Driscoll.

Brentford and Rushden and Diamonds are also interested in Browning whom Gillingham released for financial reasons.

Player-manager Andy Hessenthaler said he wanted to retain Browning but had been prevented from doing so because of financial constraints brought about by the collapse of ITV Digital.
