Busy Easter for Gate

MARGATE, fresh from their 2-0 win at Southport last Saturday, have a busy period over the Easter holiday.

They entertain Farnborough at Dover on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and then have the long trip to Telford on Monday.

At Southport Jay Saunders, one of the goalscorers, suffered a nasty head injury which rather took the gloss off Gate's fourth win in four Conference meetings with northern club.

Saunders clashed heads with team-mate Sam Sodje as they both challenged for a ball in the air in the second half.

He had to leave the field with a bruised, swollen face, but did not go to hospital and was able to travel back by train with the rest of the team.

The fact that Margate picked up three more useful points was about as much satisfaction as they could take from an often scrappy match.
