FORMER British and European light welter-weight champion and 70s sports star Dave 'Boy' Green is to team up with Kent-born author Bob Lonkhurst at a joint book signing.
The pair will be signing copies of Lonkhurst's latest book, The Fen Tiger, a biography of Dave 'Boy' Green, at the Greyhound pub in Aylesham's Market Square, from 7pm on Friday, December 3.
Though now a successful businessman, Cambridgeshire-born Green became a star of the ring from 1974 through to his retirement in 1981 for a career that spanned 41 professional contests with a record of 37 wins and just four defeats.
He lost fights for the world title against Carlos Palomino at Wembley in 1977 and then, three years later, took on Sugar Ray Leonard in America - but both opponents were later inducted into the world boxing hall of fame.
The Fen Tiger is the fourth boxing biography written by Romney Marsh-born Longhurst and is not available from the shops, meaning the signing represents a rare opportunity for Kent fight fans to purchase a signed copy.
