Bid to expand village cricket league

OFFICIALS of the Kent Village Cricket League are looking for new teams so that they can form a seventh division.

The decision to expand the competition was taken at the annual meeting after seven clubs applied for the one vacancy left by the withdrawal of Boughton Monchelsea CC near Maidstone.

Selsted were elected by a large margin at Ashford’s Stour Centre to fill the one place in Division 6, with the other six clubs being put forward for Division 7.

Clubs wishing to join the league are invited to write to new league secretary Sean Ayling, at 58 All Saints Close, Whitstable CT5 1SD.

Applications can also be sent by email to sean@ezywriter.co.uk and should reach the secretary by Friday, October 24.
