Away day misery for Wings

It was a tough afternoon for Jamie Turner

Havant & Waterlooville 4 Welling United 0

WELLING suffered their heaviest defeat of the season as suspensions and injuries took their toll at Westleigh Park on Saturday.

Wings were without the suspended Jamie Day and Des Boateng, while Martin Carthy (illness) did not travel.

Although Welling started brightly Havant were always in control and took the lead nine minutes before half-time.

Referee Tony Coggins only showed a yellow card to Richard Pacquette for a late foul on Chris Moore and the striker took full advantage to fire low past Jamie Turner.

Pacquette was at it again four minutes later when Rocky Baptiste's flick on sent him clear and he lobbed Turner with ease.

The game was put beyond doubt 10 minutes into the second half when midfielder Jamie Collins scored from 20 yards and veteran forward Dean Holdworth came off the bench to add the fourth in stoppage time.

Wings face Dartford, who went out of the FA Trophy on Saturday, in the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night.
