Young woman charged over stabbing

A WOMAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm following an incident in which another woman was stabbed.

Police officers, some of them armed, were called to The Connaught Mews, in the Luton area of Chatham, on Sunday afternoon and surrounded a property for several hours.

Later police confirmed that two people, a woman and a man, had been arrested in connection with a stabbing in New Road, Chatham, at about 5.15pm on Sunday.

The man, who is in his late 20s, was released on bail until January 16 but the 19-year-old woman, who lives in Connaught Mews, was charged.

The stabbed woman, also 19, was in a stable condition in hospital.
