Women die in M20 crash horror

TWO women were killed today in five-vehicle crash on the M20. It was the the second fatal accident on the motorway in less than a week.

Today's accident, near Swanley, caused traffic chaos for London-bound travellers.

A red Ford Mondeo is understood to have crossed the central reservation before colliding with a blue Peugeot. One of the dead women was the driver of the Ford, the other was a passenger in the Peugeot. Neither woman has yet been identified.

Both carriageways of the M20 were closed for several hours as emergency services fought to save the life of one of the women.

Last Sunday, a man died when his van swerved off the M20 and crashed into a tree. The man, who was in his late 20s and from London, died after his white Peugeot Partner van veered across two lanes and smashed through a fence into a field near the top of Wrotham Hill. No other vehicles were involved.

Witnesses to the M20 crash on Sunday are asked to telephone PC Mike Palmer on 01622 608153.
