Wet weather saw dozens of matches postponed on Saturday

Wet weather decimated Saturday's football fixtures as a raft of matches were postponed across the county.

In Blue Square South Dartford's trip to Havant & Waterlooville was called off for a waterlogged pitch and at Hayes Lane Bromley's clash with Thurrock was postponed for the same reason.

Ebbsfleet United's trip to Chelmsford City only just survived. A late 2pm pitch inspection was passed, despite neither side being allowed to warm up on the Melbourne Park pitch before kick-off.

In the Ryman Premier Division Margate's trip to Bury Town, Folkestone Invicta at home to Canvey Island, Tonbridge's clash at Hendon and Cray Wanderers' game away at Wealdstone were all postponed.

In Division One North, Thamesmead Town's match at home to Wingate & Finchley failed a pitch inspection.

In Division One South, Ramsgate's match at home to Bognor Regis Town was the last game to be called off after a 2pm pitch inspection at Southwood. Sittingbourne's match at home to Fleet Town also failed to beat the elements.

Whitstable Town's game at home to fellow strugglers Whyteleafe was postponed earlier in the week. On Wednesday morning, the Belmont Ground was vandalised by thieves, who stripped copper fixtures and fittings from both changing rooms.

Only three Kent league fixtures survived the weather as games at Corinthian, Greenwich Borough, Lordswood and Norton Sports were postponed.
