THERE are just a few days left to nominate youngsters for a Children of Achievement award.

The scheme, organised by Kent estate agents Ward and Partners and supported by the Kent Messenger Group, recognises the courage of youngsters who cope with severe disabilities.

There is also a category to honour young people who look after such needy children.

Entries, which have been coming in since the 2006 scheme was launched in June, must close on August 18 to leave time for judging before the award ceremony in September.

In the last four years Ward and Partners has donated £600,000 to a charitable trust to help children.

David Lench, Ward and Partners managing director, said the company was keen to acknowledge children in Kent who were overcoming adversity or were committed to helping others do so.

The KM Group is backing the scheme by publishing the nomination form in its newspapers and on its website and by promoting the awards on our kmfm radio stations.

We are looking for children who have triumphed over their adversity, youngsters who enjoy sport, music or other arts despite their disabilities and young volunteers who freely give up time to help less fortunate children.

Note: Nominations will be treated in confidence if requested.
