Wall demolished in crash

A 33-year-old man was arrested on Monday evening after a crash that left part of a wall demolished in Sturry Hill, Sturry.

The accident was reported to police at 7.10pm and involved a pick-up truck, a Mercedes car and a Micra car.

The truck collided with a wall and witnesses reported that the driver left the scene.

A man was arrested at 7.50pm at an address in Canterbury on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.

He has been released on bail until July 13 pending further police inquiries.

No one was injured and the road was reopened at 9pm after the vehicles had been removed and debris cleared.
