Two injured in rush-hour crash

Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash on a busy country road in Thanet.

The B2050 Manston Road was closed in both directions after two cars collided near Manston Golf Centre at around 7.30am.

Witnesses said the road was icy at the time. A female driver suffered back, chest and knee injuries and was taken by ambulance to the QEQM hospital, Margate.

The male driver of the other vehicle also needed hospital treatment for facial injuries.

Both cars suffered significant damage in the collision and neither was driveable.

Manston Road reopened at around 8.40am, following the recovery of debris and the two vehicles.
