The west tunnel at the Dartford Crossing was closed for more than two hours today after two HGVs crashed.
There were no injuries as a result of the accident.
The Highways Agency and crews from both Dartford and Thameside fire station attended the scene after receiving a call at 12.54pm.
The east tunnel remained opened at the time of the collision.
Traffic jams stretched back to junction 3 of the M25 causing 50 minutes worth of delays for cars travelling to the crossing.
A specialist breakdown vehicle was used to remove one HGV from the tunnel and the tunnel was expected to reopen following the removal of the second vehicle.
