Tonbridge Angels boss Tommy Warrilow has said anything other than a play-off finish in the Ryman League, Premier Division would be a failure this season.

Tonbridge start with a testing trip to Billericay on Saturday before Bury Town make the long trip to Longmead on Tuesday night, with Warrilow, pictured, telling his players that he wants a top-six place at least this season.

He said: "I put pressure on myself all the time and I set the boys the target every year of getting into the play-offs.

"We have been there or thereabouts the last couple of years, but hopefully we can have an incident-free season and maintain a bit of stability.

"When you look at the players we’ve got you don’t want to settle for mid-table. We are a lot stronger this year than we were a year ago."

He added: "There are probably 10 teams who are capable of winning the division. We can achieve it, but it would be a massive ask – we’d need a bigger squad and to be lucky with injuries.

"Hopefully, we’ll bring some more money in once the season starts and we can bring some more (players) in. I’d like a good cup run this season to bring some more money in, too."
