A DREAM has come true for 12 year old Toby Graham.

The Maidstone Grammar School pupil has landed a part in the West End production of The Sound of Music.

Toby, of Lower Street, Leeds, will play the part of Friedrich, the eldest Von Trapp boy, in the musical showing at the London Palladium.

He won the part after a series of auditions with youngsters from across the south east.

Toby, who attends the Maidstone branch of the Stagecoach drama school, is in the middle of six weeks' intensive rehearsals and starts a four and half month stint performing to 2,200-strong audiences from the end of the month.

He said: "The auditions were nerve-wracking because there were so many other children."

"He added: I am so excited about meeting Summer Strallen, who plays Maria, and singing to a live full orchestra.

"It really is a dream come true."
