Thugs assault Polish nationals in playing field

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after several foreign nationals were the victims of an unprovoked attack at the hands of up to six thugs.

The group of Polish people was approached by a number of men in Rectory Playing Field, Sittingbourne, on Saturday, August 25, between 9pm and 9.40pm.

They were asked if they had seen a boy and girl with a dog. When they tried to answer, the thugs started punching and kicking them.

A number of Polish people at the scene suffered cuts and bruises.

A Kent police spokesman said: "It is believed there were five or six English offenders. One is described as of medium build, aged around 20, with short, blond hair and wearing a white t-shirt."
