Thieves in £4,000 garage raid

TOBACCO and cigarettes valued at thousands of pounds were stolen in a raid on a service station.

Four intruders were involved in the incident at the Bell Wood Service Station, Sutton Road, Park Wood, Maidstone, between 12.30am and 12.45am on Wednesday.

They got into the building, which was empty at the time, by breaking a glass window. They were seen climbing over the counter and searching for the goods, valued at about £4,000.

The first man was wearing blue jeans and a black coat with the hood pulled up over his head and a white logo on the back of the coat. He also had black gloves and a red scarf tied around his face.

The second man wore a green and brown Parka-type jacket with a hood covering his face, and black gloves.

The third had collar length hair, which is believed to be grey, fair or light brown, and wore a black bandanna-style hat and a knitted cardigan worn back to front.

There was no description of the fourth raider.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Maidstone and Malling Police on 01622 608189 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
