Sports car driver in crash 'stable'

A CAR driver seriously injured in a road accident in Glassenbury Road, Cranbrook, is today in a "stable condition" after undergoing surgery.

The 52-year-old man, from Cranbrook, who was driving a Lotus Elise, suffered serious injuries to his hands in the accident which happened at about 12.30pm yesterday.

He was taken to Maidstone Hospital by Kent Air Ambulance. He underwent surgery and transferred to a hospital in Chelmsford today.

Following the crash the road was closed for almost four hours while police carried out an investigation. No other vehicle was involved.
