Seventeen people were taken to hospital after a minibus rolled over on the M25 last night.

A section of the road was closed for about 45 minutes as a fleet of five ambulances and four paramedic cars ferried away the passengers. An air ambulance was stood down at the scene.

One woman in 50s is said to have suffered head injuries.

The driver of a car also involved in the crash was among the injured.

It happened on the anti-clockwise carriageway between J2 (Darenth) and J3 (Swanley) at about 6.30pm.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews went to the scene and helped move the injured, including seven who needed to be taken on spinal boards.

No one was trapped, but because of the number of casualties it was reported the Darent Valley Hospital A&E unit was closed to all other cases for a time.
