Search on for stolen DVD haul

POLICE are hunting thieves who stole £96,000 worth of DVD players on the Isle of Grain, near Rochester. The 2,640 Yamada players were stolen along with a trailer at Thamesport.

The trailer, with an empty green shipping container, were taken from the Securicor Omega depot between October 11 and 15. The trailer was hitched to a white tractor unit bearing the false number plates G884 HUX.

On October 16 the vehicle was driven to Thamesport where the driver provided the correct information, which allowed him to collect a brown-coloured container full of DVD players.

The vehicle was driven to Essex where it was seen at Truckworld, near Lakeside. The trailer and container were abandoned on the Purfleet bypass on October 19.

A reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and recovery of the property.
