For many parents, one of the driving factors behind moving home is securing a good education for their children.

A recent study, commissioned by Teachers' TV, has revealed that 31% of parents would move to be near their first-choice school.

Proximity to good schools was a key reason why Matt Walsom and his wife Jacqui decided to secure a new four-bedroom family house at Ward Homes' Saxon Mews development in Iwade, near Sittingbourne.

The couple were living in a three-bedroom terraced property and were keen to upgrade to a larger home. With two young girls to consider, Eloisa aged 11 and Lillie aged six, Saxon Mews was the ideal choice.

Westlands School, Borden Grammar School and Highsted Grammar School are all just a few miles from the development, along with a wide selection of high-achieving primary schools.

Matt, who works for FedEx, explained: "We were really keen to secure to a larger home but proximity to good schools was an absolute priority.

"With so many high-achieving schools to choose from in the area, Saxon Mews was able to provide us with the home we were looking for, plus good schools - it was perfect."

Saxon Mews is an attractive community of 26 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, in Iwade, four miles from Sittingbourne.

Matt commented: "We were keen to move quickly but we hadn't secured a buyer for the current property. Part-exchange made moving easy.

"We got a great price for our old home, making more than £60,000 on what we originally paid for it, and the whole process was cheaper and quicker."

Prices at Saxon Mews start from £209,995 for a three-bedroom house. For further information call 01795 423977 or visit http://www.wardhomes.co.uk/
