Ryman League round-up

With wet weather across the south east accounting for the majority of non-league football on Saturday, just three Kent sides managed to take to the field.

Tonbridge Angels suffered their second straight Ryman League Premier Division defeat as they went down 1-0 to leaders Sutton Athletic at Longmead on Saturday.

Tommy Warrilow's side fell 14 points behind the leaders after a second-half goal from Leroy Griffiths.

Sutton manager Paul Doswell was sent to the stands on 27 minutes after being accused of verbal abusing the assistant referee who adjudged Frannie Collin (pictured) to have been onside when he was sent clean through a minute earlier, only to see his shot come off the inside of the post and be scrambled away.

At the other end Lee Worgan kept the hosts in it with a stunning double save from Craig Dundas but he was eventually beaten when former Gillingham striker Griffiths found the net on 56 minutes.

Whitstable Town's survival chances in Ryman League Division 1 South took a hit when they went down 3-2 after a rollercoaster game at Fleet.

Peter Nott's side went 1-0 down after eight minutes through Darren Campbell's goal and Jamie McClurg made it 2-0 on 27 minutes.

However two goals in four minutes after the start of the second half brought Town level, Lloyd Blackman giving them hope a minute after the restart and then equalising from the spot four minutes later.

However McClurg grabbed his second to make it 3-2 on 73 minutes and Town could not find another goal to extend their seven match unbeaten run which leaves them one point and two places above the drop-zone.

Chatham Town moved five points clear of the drop-zone after coming from behind to earn a point at play-off chasing Burgess Hill Town.

The Chats fell behind on 36 minutes when Will Berry found the net but Joe Fuller levelled for Paul Foley's side on 71 minutes.
