Police in child porn raids

THIRTY-SIX suspected Internet paedophiles - two from Kent - have been arrested in a series of police raids across the country.

Detectives were today sifting through suspected child pornography seized in the large-scale operation - codenamed Ore.

The operation was launched following a tip-off from the authorities in America.

Kent police were involved in the operation. They arrested a 34-year-old man in the Dartford area and a warrant was also issued in West Kent. Nationwide police raided 43 houses and flats.

The crackdown targeted computer users accessing pay-per-view websites based in the United States. The sites were selling images of sexual abuse of children as young as five.
