A manhunt is underway in the Iwade area today.

A police helicopter has been scrambled to help officers on the ground as they search for an illegal immigrant who escaped from the back of a lorry at the Morrisons distribution centre in Kemsley.

Officers were called to the scene at 11.50am following reports that seven illegal immigrants had made a run for it when the trucks doors were opened.

Six of the men were captured by staff at the site.

They are all believed to be Iranian.

The vehicle wasn't one of the supermarket giant's but a haulier from Belgium bringing flower supplies.

A spokesman for Morrisons said: "We take every precaution to keep the lorries secure. It is very rare that this happens."
