Pirate pranks at school

AHOY me hearties! And similar piratical cries could be heard at a primary school as pupils learnt all about pirates.

To finish off last term’s project about the rogues of the sea, a Pirate Day was held at Minster Primary School.

There was a treasure hunt around the school, with clues leading children to different pieces of eight, and they enjoyed a visit from the Sheppey Pirates.

They also learnt about the notorious Black Beard and even made pirate biscuits. There was a pirate ship in the playground for children to play on.

Year one leader, Michelle Jeffery, said: “They had a fantastic time.

“We had a topic of pirates so they could learn about them.”
