Pictures: street market draws shoppers

Bargains and tasty goodies were snapped up at the Tankerton Christmas street market.

There were nearly 50 stalls selling festive gifts and foods.

Organiser Penny Thomas said the temporary closure of a section of Tankerton Road provided an ideal location for the event.

“I think most stalls and shops, which opened especially for the occasion, did quite well because we had lots of visitors.

“There were around 20 trade and craft stalls selling everything from handbags and jewellery to pet accessories and seven food stalls.

“We drew our inspiration for the market from German and French style markets and the street had a real festive atmosphere.”
