A mother who offered a £10,000 reward to catch a thief who burgled her home has appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on a kidnapping charge.

Personal trainer Tracy Taylor, 41, stood in the dock with Anthony Charles, 43, and 37-year-old Johan Van Vuuren.

All three are charged with kidnapping a 20-year-old man on the promenade in Leysdown, Sheppey, on August 5.

Taylor, of Frindsbury Road, Strood; Charles, of Hawthorn Road, Strood; and Van Vuuren, of Oldbury Lane, Sevenoaks; appeared for a brief preliminary hearing.

They will return to court on October 19 to enter pleas. Conditional bail was continued.

Taylor's house was burgled while she was at a funeral on July 31.

A safe containing cash and jewellery was prised off the wall in the basement.
