Dartford's seemingly unstoppable charge to the Ryman League Premier Division title continued as they opened up a 14-point lead at the top of the table on Tuesday.

The Darts recorded a 4-1 win at Ashford Town (Middx) to move 14 points clear of Boreham Wood and Hastings.

Darts had to come from behind early on at Ashford after top scorer Lee Burns, playing at right-back, was penalised for handball in the box when sliding in and Bryon Harrison scored from the spot.

The visitors fought back and Jay May set up Lee Noble on the left to level eight minutes before half-time and after the break Ryan Hayes smashed in a goal direct from a corner.

Andy Young made a fine save to deny Harrison before Noble set up Danny Harris to make it 3-1 and May rolled in the fourth after a flowing move on 72 minutes.

A last-gasp penalty for Whitstable ended a run of seven straight Division 1 South defeats as they drew 1-1 at home to Whyteleafe - but they still remain bottom of the table.

After former Maidstone defender Ryan Royston handled, Stuart Vahid converted the spot-kick for Mark Munday's side.

The visitors had taken the lead just before the hour mark when Sam Butler scored with a deflected effort.

Goals from Frankie Chappell, James Everitt and Simon Austin meant Folkestone stayed two points clear at the top after a 3-1 home win over Sittingbourne.

Chappell and Everitt scored within the first 12 minutes to put Folkestone in control although Bourne quickly replied through Tom Bradbrook.

Austin sealed the points from the edge of the penalty area with 11 minutes left and the hosts then had a goal disallowed for offside.

Ashford lost 2-1 at Horsham YMCA, who moved about the Nuts and Bolts as a result.

It had started brightly for Steve Lovell's side who took the lead through Mitchell Sherwood's 12th-minute penalty.

However, Nigel Brake's 35th-minute free-kick and Tom Manton's 73rd-minute winner ensured they left empty-handed.

VCD lost out 4-2 at Romford in Division 1 North and sit 18th in the table.
