Man attacked after leaving rail station

A 41-year-old man was threatened by a thug and then struck several times with an unknown object shortly after he got off a train.

The victim has told police he was walking along Barnsole Road, Gillingham, at about 11pm on November 1 when he was approached by a man in his mid 20s.

He suffered several cuts to his face and some bruising but nothing was stolen during the incident.

The victim says he thinks the weapon used was either a bottle or a knife

The suspect is described as being black, around 5ft 10in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and blue denim low cut jeans.

Police are investigating to see if the offence was captured on CCTV.
