Maidstone United booked an FA Trophy second qualifying round clash with Bognor Regis Town after a 1-0 replay win over Waltham Forest on Tuesday night.

The Stones will travel to West Sussex - where they drew 0-0 in the Ryman League Premier Division earlier this month - on Saturday, October 31.

After a 1-1 draw in Essex on Saturday, the Stones progressed past Waltham thanks to a 69th minute goal from Peter Hawkins at Homelands.

Ashford Town suffered a 5-1 humbling at Worthing in Ryman League Division 1 South on Tuesday.

It was Town’s second 5-1 reverse in three away league games, with the other a 4-0 defeat.

Town could not live with the pace of the Rebels and were 4-0 down at the break after some frail defending.

Steve Lovell’s side responded with a spirited second half performance but had gone 5-0 down before they got a consolation.

Lovell introduced 17-year-old Ronnie Dolan for his debut at the break and on 61 minutes the youngster linked well with Mitchell Sherwood to release Carl Harrold whose pinpoint cross was met with a superb downward header into the top corner from Joe Fuller.

Whitstable Town’s struggles continued with a 4-2 home defeat against high-flying Fleet Town in Ryman League Division 1 South.

The visitors had gone 2-0 up at the KRBS Belmont before goals from newly returned Dave Cory and a penalty from Stuart Vahid gave the Oystermen hope.

However, despite a spell of second half pressure from Mark Munday’s side the Hampshire side added two goals late on to go up to second.
