Knife threat: suspects on police bail

TEENAGERS suspected of threatening an elderly man with a knife at his home in Medway have been released on police bail.

A gang of 15-year-olds allegedly forced their way into the man's home in Gainsborough House, Gravel Walk, Rochester, on Saturday and grabbed a knife from the kitchen. When the man confronted them, they threw down the knife and ran away.

But hours later they returned and allegedly smashed his front door down, once again threatening him with a knife. The shaken man managed to call for help but the gang escaped.

Police officers arrested a group of youths on Sunday. One was released but four have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
