The route the Olympic torch will take through Kent

With less than a fortnight before the Games begin, Kent finally gets its moment to shine this week.

The Olympic torch arrives in the county tomorrow – just 10 days before what has been dubbed the greatest show on earth gets under way.

To celebrate this historic occasion, KentOnline is launching #torchreporter – a unique way of getting involved in our coverage of the four-day relay.

We are asking readers and listeners of kmfm to use Twitter to send us their experiences of the flame as it passes through the county.

By using the hashtag #torchreporter and including the postcode where you are watching from, we will be able to add your tweet to our interactive map - which will also feature updates from our team of reporters and photographers all over Kent.

If you are not watching from home, you might like to look up a nearby postcode in advance.

Our multimedia coverage will also feature video footage from along the route, as well as interviews with some of the county's army of 230 torchbearers.

The Olympic torch will be in Kent for longer than anywhere else in the UK.

It will spend a short time in Tunbridge Wells tomorrow before returning to the county on Wednesday, when it will travel through Ashford, Folkestone and Dover, where an evening celebration is taking place.

Torchbearers' pride at role in historic event

On Thursday, the torch makes its way from Deal and Sandwich to Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate.

It will then head west to Sturry, Canterbury, Faversham, Challock and Harrietsham.

An evening event at Leeds Castle completes the 62nd day of the flame's journey around the UK.

The following day, the torch leaves Maidstone before heading through Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Strood, Higham and Gravesend.

Visits to Borough Green, Seal and Sevenoaks later in the day will complete the torch's journey through Kent.
