Jungle Joe tipped to win I'm a Celebrity

Joe is the favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle
Joe is the favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle

You've got to be in it to win it which gives Joe Swash by my reckoning a one in three chance of winning.

The former EastEnders star has made it through to tonight's final of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here after seeing off the might last night of Dollar villain David Van Day

(I've convinced myself that the two phone calls I made helped keep him in!!)

The 26-year-old has been tipped to win the ITV1 show from the beginning, and just need to beat Martina Navratilova and George Takei to be crowned King of the Jungle.

There is a risk I'll miss the climax given that I'll be hurtling up the A1 to deliver Christmas gifts to the in-laws in Lincoln.

But newsdesk deputy-guru Lee Winter has kindly agreed to take over Swash sentry duties with a live final blog on www.medwaymessenger.co.uk from 8.30pm tonight.

Feel free to join in with your comments, tuts and rants on the Jungle Joe SpeakOut [which is on Lee's list of things to do for this afternoon]

Upon leaving the jungle the cheeky Cockney [Joe not Lee] will then make his way to Medway to start rehearsals for his role as Buttons in this year's pantomime Cinderella at the Central Theatre in Chatham which opens on Friday, December 12.

Anyway for those who missed it here are the highlights from last night's show.

Martina, David and George were blown away with the latest Celebrity Cyclone Bush Tucker Trial.

Working together as a team the remaining four celebrities had to make their way along a slippery surface while water cannons and gale force winds were aimed and fired at them as they struggled to put foam stars on spots.

But just as Joe placed the last star, a deluge of water washed the celebs back to the start.

Fortunately for them they had all hung on to their foam stars.

With a minute left to go to complete the task they managed to brave the elements once again and get the stars back on the spots just in the nick of time, thus winning themselves a tasty evening meal.

Tired and worn out the campers returned to base where they found a note telling them four ice creams had been hidden around the camp. Their mission was to find them before they melted.

Joe frantically scrabbled around the camp in search of the treats.

He found the first one and gave it to George, the second one he ate himself, the third he gave to David but when he couldn't find the fourth for Martina he lost his cool with David who wasn't helping with the search.

Later in the evening the stars were presented with a tray of chocolates to play a game with.

Each celebrity took turns to spin the wheel to see which chocolate they had to eat. But it would seem not all of the chocolates were as nice as they appeared.

George started the game. At first he thought he had picked a normal chocolate but after biting in to it and chewing it for a while he revealed 'there's something strange in this chocolate.'

Later in the game George picked up a second chocolate. After taking a bite he exclaimed 'I think this is chocolate,' but just seconds later he jumped out of his seat screaming 'Oh no, it's vile.'

Joe was given the privilege of filming inside the camp with a camcorder and ended up recording David's video for the song Bif Baf Bof, which he wrote with Timmy Mallett.

It was all very creative with David being shot in different locations around the camp doing different things - the only problem was Joe forgot to press the record button most of the time!!!
