In video: The UK Body Painting Championship

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

It really was a question of watching paint dry for visitors to one local pub at the weekend.

The UK Body Painting Festival was held in the field behind the Farrier's Arms in Mersham, near Ashford.

Artists from across the country painted two different pictures over the weekend on their models.

The first day was themed "Works of art", with day two having the theme of ecological rainforests.

Artists had five hours to complete their works and were judged on both days' work to find the winner.

Lauren Baker, from Bexley, was the eventual winner having produced a stunning Bollywood design including a rendering of the Taj Mahal on the first day and produced a leopard and exotic flower design on the second.

As well as the competition there were also demonstrations of body painting, face painting for children and a craft fair.
