'I smoked dope with my teen daughter'

Karen Dixon: "I don't see what's wrong with it"

Most mums chat to their daughters over a cup of tea and a biscuit – but not this one.

This 42-year-old mother smoked drugs at home with her 15-year-old and despite being almost sent to prison for it, says she has done nothing wrong.

Karen Dixon was told by a judge to try and kick her own 20-year drug addiction and ordered to take part in a drugs testing programme.

But for Miss Dixon, of Railway Street, Northfleet, near Gravesend, the whole case was a waste of police time and she thinks they should be concentrating on more serious crime.

"Why should I get done for smoking in my own house?" she said.

"I've been smoking cannabis since I was 18 and I've got previous for possession - but I never smoked when I was pregnant and I don’t see what’s wrong with it.

"It's never done me any harm."
