High street heroes foil raid

A shop's customers and staff have been thanked by police for their quick-thinking actions during an alleged robbery in Sittingbourne.

At around 3.30pm, police received a call to say a man had been restrained by five members of the public and store staff at Astra Decor in Milton High Street.

Sergeant Nicholas Sparkes from Kent Police said: “Had these members of the public and staff not acted so quickly and intervened, police wouldn’t have been able to make such a swift arrest. They also placed themselves at risk without hesitation and I would like to thank them for their actions.”
