Gunman robs cashier at bookmakers

A ROBBER armed with a handgun entered a bookmakers and threatened the duty cashier.

The gun was protruding from his shirt sleeve as he demanded that money was placed in a bag.

The cashier escaped to a rear room but the robber managed to get access to the cash and stole around £750 before making off.

The raid happened at the William Hill bookmakers in Barnsole Road, Gillingham, at about 5.15pm on Sunday.

The robber is described as a slim, Afro Caribbean man with medium brown skin, about 5ft 9in tall, and aged between 18 –23. He had dark eyes, a thin nose and lips and was wearing a red baseball cap.
