Gillingham supporters are confident their side can enhance their promotion credentials with victory over a side which beat them in October.

MALCOLM SMITH

(Grimsby)

"Complacency doesn’t seem to be an issue for this team as Hess looks to have instilled a respect for other teams while at the same time working toward our strengths to get the right results.

"5-1 flattered Stockport on Saturday and I hope the team continue to attack the same with the ball and work together without it against Northampton.

"Bayo may well be back to face his old team and he’s promised revenge after we lost at Sixfields."

Prediction: Gills 2 Northampton 1

PAUL BLAKELEY

(Maidstone)

"The Gills showed great spirit to battle back from defeat at Wycombe to come up trumps with a thumping away win at Stockport.

"After going on such a good run and it ending abruptly, we could have returned to the level and attitude we were showing at the start of the season. But we bounced back and in emphatic style.

"If we get a near fully-fit team by Saturday, it will be interesting to see who gets picked, as it’s not often you drop players after a 5-1 away win."

Prediction: Gills 3 Northampton 1

ALEX SARSON

(Wellingborough)

"The form we have had recently has been great and the 5-1 win over Stockport has maintained our play-off chase.

"Cody McDonald has proved me wrong in recent weeks.

"He looks alert and full of effort. Our squad seems to be slowly returning from injury. As long as we keep this going I think we have as much chance as anyone in the division, when it comes to achieving League 1 football next season.

"Northampton is a game we should win but we know they are a team able to frustrate as they proved at Sixfields earlier this season."

Prediction: Gills 3 Northampton 1

SAM LIVINGSTONE

(Pangbourne)

"Gillingham have been flying lately and that was summed up with the 5-1 demolition of Stockport on their own patch. Cody is beginning to knock in goals for fun while I hope Akinfenwa will be back to cause all sorts of trouble against his old side.

"However, I’m concerned that we may all be starting to get carried away with talk of automatic promotion. Northampton looked strong at set pieces when we played them at Sixfields. It seems to be the area where we struggle the most and we concede a lot of goals from corners and free-kicks from wide positions."

Prediction: Gills 2 Northampton 2

MICHAEL CLARK

(Northampton fan)

"The Cobblers broke a run of six straight defeats with a 2-1 victory over the Gills at Sixfields but we go into Saturday’s game short of striking options with Leon McKenzie still struggling with fitness and on-loan Ryan Jarvis and Craig King both heading back to their parent clubs.

"Northampton have not been great travellers this season but have looked more solid in recent weeks with Newcastle loanee Ben Tozer partnering Dean Beckwith at the back."

Prediction: Gills 1 Northampton 1
