POLICE investigating an assault on a female student have issued an e-fit of a man they wish to interview.

The 20-year-old student was walking home from Mid Kent College’s Horsted campus on Monday, January 17, at around 4.45pm.

As she walked down a footpath that runs alongside BAE Systems, Rochester, she was approached by a group of five men.

A Medway Police spokesman said: “One of the men then spoke to her and she carried on walking. The offender then blocked her path and told her to give him her 'phone.

“The victim said she didn’t have one and the man then punched her on the cheek and again asked her for her phone. She managed to run away and made her way to her home in Strood.”

The offender is described as 16-17 years old, 5ft 7in tall with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a white Nike hooded top, chunky deck trainers with thick laces.

Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Medway Police on 01634 884252 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. All calls to Crimestoppers are free and are treated in the strictest of confidence.
