A former maths teacher is facing sentence after admitting downloading child sex abuse images from the internet.

Jeremy Allison, of Balmoral Road, Gillingham, entered guilty pleas at Maidstone Crown Court today to two charges of making indecent images of children between September 2007 and September last year.

The movie clips of young children at the highest levels of five and four were discovered after he took his computer to be repaired.

Sara Haroon, defending, said Allison taught at Knole Academy in Bradbourne Vale Road, Sevenoaks. “He is obviously no longer there,” she added.

The 29-year-old, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, was previously managing director of a beauty business before going on to study at Greenwich University and becoming a teacher.

Miss Haroon said Allison had chronic depression, which was a symptom of his illness. “After his arrest, he attempted suicide,” she said.

Adjourning sentence for reports until October 25 and granting conditional bail, Judge Martin Joy said Allison should have no unsupervised contact with children under 16.

“You have pleaded guilty to a serious offence,” he said.

“The court needs to know more about you before sentence is passed. A report should not give you any false idea about the nature of the sentence.”
